So true that genuine confidence comes from stepping into unpredictable outcomes and learning you can handle them anyway.

“We make something to discover something, and what we discover changes what we make next” captures the recursive nature of creative work beautifully. Perhaps artistic confidence is not confidence that the original idea will succeed. It is confidence that we can stay with the work as it changes, let failure redirect the work, discover how to evolve form.
